Convert footprint to group

There are two types of footprints: footprints that are stored internally in pad2pad's footprint library special file and PCB footprints that are stored in regular PCB files on disk.

You can convert a PCB footprint to a group.

To convert a PCB footprint to a group:

1. Select the footprint you want to convert.
2. Click the right mouse button to open the context menu.
3. Choose Convert to group.

You can also convert a group of objects into a footprint.

To convert a group into a footprint:

1. Select the group of objects you want to convert.
2. Click the right mouse button to open the context menu.
3. Choose Convert to Footprint.

You can ungroup an internally stored footprint:

To ungroup an internally stored footprint:

1. Select the footprint.
2. Choose Edit | Ungroup.
